September Favorites!

Here's a look at some products I've been loving for the month of September.

Revlon nail polish in "Charming"
I love the consistency, formula, brush, and overall application. It's very user friendly and ensures that you don't have to go get your nails done by professionals to get nice looking nails.
Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm Sphere
Eos Lip Balm in "Strawberry Sorbet"
I love the feeling it gives to your lips. It's not greasy and it really sinks into your lips.
Pomegranate Raspberry Shave
Eos shave cream "Pomegranate Raspberry"
You can shave completely dry because of the amazing lotion consistency. I love the packaging and the pump is very practical.
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow, Iced Latte
L'oreal Infallible "Iced Latte"
Gives a beautiful frosty look to the eyes, helps create illusion of brighter, more awake eyes.
 Powder Blush
Mac "Dame" blush
Gives a pretty glow, has a satin finish that makes your face look doll-like and flawless.

Overview/Review: LUSH Products I Have Tried So Far!

Fizzbanger
Fizzbanger Bath Bomb: $5.95
I love the smell of this (apple and spice, not too strong) and you can chop it up and get more use out of it! I don't feel the need to always have a bath bomb with me, but I will definitely repurchase when I want to splurge on some bath products!

Snake Oil Scalp Treatment Bar: $7.95
This is the best, most useful product I have bought from LUSH so far. You rub this in your hand to get oil (I typically use a lighter to speed up the product) and rub it through your scalp. Then you wait 20 minutes and wash your hair. This is perfect for my dry, rough scalp and you don't need much product each time you use it.

Stepping Stone- $3.95
This was a huge disappointment. When you buy it, it looks like a foot shaped pumice stone. The first time I used this on my wet feet, half of the product crumbled into the water. I read and re-read the directions- I was doing it right the whole time, but it just kept crumbling. It made me mad because it kept wasting product. Now, it looks like the photo above and is unusable.

Review: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

I'm going to start off this post by giving you a generic overview of the product. It retails at $5.19 at ULTA. It has a simple wand, basically just a spooly. The formula is very wet, so you have to be careful when applying it or it will smear everywhere. I find that this helps to curl your lashes and flare them as well. I would definitely not recommend this by itself because it does NOTHING (to my lashes at least) to help thicken or volumize, which is my main priority in a mascara. I do, however, believe that this would make a great layering mascara. Bottom line: This mascara is not a horrible product, but it really doesn't do much. It would be great for beginners because of the price tag.
A look at the packaging- classic pink and green tube

The wand is very simple and basic- just a standard spooly

Me wearing the mascara- you can see definite curling and flaring, but no volume

NOTD: Pure Ice "Pink Ice"

This is my first time using this nail polish. It kind of just sat in the back of my nail polish stash. I guess I was being a brand snob and was just using brands I was familiar with. For what it is, I like this nail polish. It is very sheer. I applied 2 coats and a clear top coat before I took photos. I would probably end up using this polish as a baby pink glittery top coat. It's not obnoxiously glittery, but it is a fun thing to do possibly on an accent nail (which are very in at the moment, I have noticed...) The consistency was nice and it doesn't look too streaky. My final thoughts on this polish? It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't terrible either.
A look at the packaging- I actually really like the square shape.

OOTW: First Week of School!

Since my first week was actually just two days, there are only two outfits to show.

This first outfit is a simple but pretty outfit incorporating a unique purpley-blue color top, fringed and pleated shorts, and brown leather strap wedges.

Since the top has cutouts in the front, it is crucial to wear a cami underneath. This one matched perfectly! It is $3.50 at Old Navy!
This top was around $10-14 from Forever 21. I can't quite remember the exact price. The cutouts turn a simple tank top into a unique piece.
So Wedges from Kohl's

So Shorts from Kohl's

This second outfit is also pretty simple but has fun pops of color on the top. The shorts are plain dark blue denim. The beige & camel colored sandals are T strap sandals from Wet Seal.

Top is from Kohl's (Lauren Conrad section). Sorry about the lighting!

Another shot of the shoes from Wet Seal. These are $9.50 (Bargain alert!)

Hope you guys enjoyed this OOTW! :)

NOTD: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Mauve It"

This is my all time favorite nail polish. The consistency is nice- not too thin or watery. It is a tad bit on the gloopy side but it doesn't impact the application. When you start painting your nails with it, it may look a little streaky but as it dries it becomes much more even looking. My favorite thing about this nail polish is how versatile it is. You can wear this in every season, which I like. It's pink and girly enough to be worn in the spring and summer, but it also has a dusty rose tone to it which makes it suitable for fall and winter as well.

Blog Haul: Skincare and Haircare Items!

L-R: Infusium23 Frizz Control Leave-in Conditioner, Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit foaming scrub, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo

So far, I have been enjoying all of these products. The standout product of this group is the Infusium23 Leave-in Conditioner. It made my hair so shiny and smooth and extremely easy to comb through. My hair is usually extremely difficult to comb through because it tangles so much, but after using this I combed through it all in about 5-10 minutes. It also controlled my frizz and fly-away. I love this product and could immediately tell a difference after using it.

I am also liking the Acne Wash. I like how it has exfoliating beads, cleanses well, and has salicylic acid in it to treat acne. It's pretty much a 3 in 1 product! It cleanses and exfoliates really well and my skin feels smooth after I use it.

I'm not really noticing much of a difference with the shampoo, but I have only tried it once so far.

If you guys own any of these products, tell me whether you like them or not! :)

OOTD: Errand Running!

I decided to put a tad bit more effort into my outfit a couple Saturdays ago. My family and I went to do a few errands (IKEA, being one of them- that's not exactly relevant to this post but I'm obsessed with IKEA).
Sorry for it being tilted (Holding a straight camera with one hand is difficult!)

I'm wearing a crochet knit top from Kohl's (the brand of the shirt is Eyelash Couture). It's a pretty cream color but it's a bit too large for me so I paired it with a white stretchy tank top underneath. I'm also wearing a pair of denim shorts with fringe on the ends. I love roughing up an outfit with fringe shorts.

Accessory of the day: silver ball studs
Face shot, LOL! FOTD I guess?

Favorite Summer Products!

Here's an overview of my favorite products to use in the summertime!

First, let's look at the one eye product I included! It's a long-wearing cream shadow that needs no primer underneath and no powder shadow on top. It has great color payoff, doesn't crease, and doesn't fade. I chose a bronze color because it is a quick and easy way to create a summery bronze look on your eyes.
Maybelline Color Tattoo (24 Hours): Bad to the Bronze

I also included one lip product to show you. I don't always like wearing lipstick, but in the summertime you have to protect your lips constantly. This is one of my favorite lip balms because it really soaks into your lips and hydrates them. It has great texture and doesn't need to be reapplied too often.
Nivea "A Kiss of Milk and Honey" lip balm

Now onto the face products! The first product is a highlight for your cheekbones. It gives you an extremely glowy and dewy look that catches the summer sun. To the right of that is my favorite matte bronzer. It is in a universally flattering color- not too light but not too dark either. It's great to contour with to give you a perfect sunkissed look. I also included a powder since a lot of people tend to become oilier in the summer. This helps mattify your skin and control the natural oils in your face. The last product is an amazing coral blush. The coral color and slight shimmers to give your face more glow and dimension are perfect for the summer season!

Hope you guys enjoyed seeing some of my favorite products for summer! xoxo
